FEMALE WRITERS FOR EBEDI RESIDENCY
Three female writers (Left to Right in picture
below) Linda Jummai Mustafa, Funke Awodiya and Ganiyat Abdulwahab have arrived
Iseyin, Oyo state, Nigeria for the current edition of the Ebedi international
Writers Residency program.
Linda, who is from Niger state is currently running a PhD program in Literature-in-E nglish. She has been published in some anthologies and
poetry collections. She will spend her time in Ebedi to complete work on her
new poetry collection.
Funke Awodiya from Osun state is an Ebedi Fellow having attended a session of the Residency in 2006. A published author of one novel and several poems, Funke will be using her time in Ebedi to complete work on a new novel. She will also mentor secondary school students in Iseyin in the area of creative writing.
The third writer, Ganiyat Abdulganiyu, a native of Kaduna state is a graduate of Usman Danfofiyo University, Sokoto.

She hopes to use the Residency to complete work on
her debut novel as well as mentor Iseyin students in Leadership and Managerial
skills.
The Ebedi Residency is a private initiative for writers who wish to complete their ongoing works in a conducive atmosphere at no cost to the writers.
Since its inception, nine years ago, the Residency has played host to more than 120 writers from 10 African countries.
